1/22/2024 0 Comments Flashing hypertech tunerI really cant comment too much more because from here you have directions and rules of how the software works from hptuners. These rules must be followed or else you will brick a fresh ecu. the directions and rules are listed bellow. if you must have the stock vin then after all the segment swap work you may use the vin change tool. Once the OS change is performed you now have met a critical requirement for doing a vin change process. This is why the dealer method is preferred. **Doing a segment swap does not transfer your vin number. Hands down, the Hypertech 3300 Max Energy Spectrum Power programmer is the best option for your Chevy Silverado if you want an excellent tuner at a reasonable price. Once completed you have to disable vats because there is a vin mis-match prevent engine operation. But placing a high-quality programmer on the 5.3 Silverado engine is going to make an impressive difference in its performance. You will need to register the new vin in hptuners to be able to perform a segment swap. DPF filters came as OE emmission equipment on all 2008 model diesel trucks to. The filter uses a system of porous chambers to trap the particulate, while the clean exhaust gas exits the filter. The DPF is designed to capture diesel exhaust gas particulate, or soot, from the exhaust gas stream. With the Hypertech 93+ tune loaded, the power seems to equal that of Livernois until about 5000rpm at which point Livernois takes over. Hypertech tuning is Emission legal in all 50 states. This is a pretty good way of guaranteeing your correct OS and other system files are transfered into the new ecu. Power-wise, Livernois tune does make plenty of it while still maintaining factory boost levels, however they extend the powerband further to about 6000rpm, at least with a high-flow downpipe. this is what i would do:Ĭheck ecu model- if the ecu's are the same model then i would look into the ability to perform a segment swap with the ecu i am trying to replace. I wouldn't do a write entire because in the past it has chunked ecu's and the newer option to perform a segment swap produces a more stable and consistent result. (in the link i will provide below they even state the same thing, that flashing can do weird things.) A dealer reset is by far the best option if its available to you.įrom here the flashing and transferring of data can be unstable but not impossible. If those match i would see if the dealer can reflash the ecu to be used in the vehicle. If i found out that plugging the new ecu in allows me to communicate with it, then i would use the scanner to verify it is an ecu from the same year and has the same ecu model as the one i am trying to replace.
